Freedom, flowers and a smile
Always in fashion
The sun is out, the island’s fields are full of wild flowers and the clear blue sea is starting to look appealing again – it’s definitely spring in Ibiza! I’m so happy about this, because it means I can finally start to wear pieces from my new clothing collection, which has just officially been launched online and in my flagship boutique, BB’s Temple. Most of my followers know, I don’t believe in creating throwaway, fast fashion items that just last for one season. My collections are made up of timeless, quality pieces perfect for the happy gypset fairies who will wear them around the world, through all seasons, on their travels.
I’m wearing the unmistakeable Barbara Bonner Malibu Poncho in orange – this was the first clothing item I ever designed and it’s ideal for this time of year and weather. To protect my skin from the sunshine (no BB girl wants to prematurely age, let alone BB herself!), I’m wearing the Lady Sombrero hat by Montegallo – whose collections have also just landed in BB’s temple. I love supporting the amazing, strong and creative women I get to know through my job and designer Alice is one of them – wearing her hats reminds me of our friendship and bond.
By the time I got to the beach, it was warm enough to take off my beloved poncho and unveil one of my latest creations, the Make Love Not War Silk Long Dress! It’s a statement piece in more ways than one. Firstly, for the name – which you’ll spot written on the pretty ribbon detail on the back of the dress – and secondly, for its shape: a long, floaty and silky dress that works from day to night, in true BB meets Ibiza style. The dress is one size and it flatters all figures – any age, any body type. I think it’s very feminine, sexy and sophisticated.
You can wear the Make Love Not War Silk Dress any way that inspires you – I’ve belted it here with my brand-new Pixie Belt. Super soft, made from 100-percent lambskin leather, this gorgeous double-buckled belt is another one of my new creations. It’s perfect to pull in long flowy dresses or ponchos, either around the hips or higher on the waist, and it also looks great with classic denim of any style.
But I really need to point out, that the most important item I’m wearing in these photos is freedom. It’s so easy to feel happy and free when your best accessories are wild flowers, the Ibiza sea and a beautiful smile – these things make every girl look so natural and beautiful, and never go out of style. While it’s true, money can buy you fashion, you can’t put a price on freedom.
